There is no getting away from the fact that Barcelona is a fantastic city, where you could spend a lifetime and still not know everything that it has to offer. However, taking a little trip outside of the city can give you a whole new insight into Catalunya and offers something completely different.
The magical world of Cava…
If you want to immerse yourself in the magical world of Cava or sparkling wine then this tour of the Freixenet cava cellars is for you. The guided tour begins with an audiovisual presentation of the history of the family business, and then continues to the old part of the cellars where the house guides explain the process of cava production.

Following this unique lesson on how to produce, serve and drink cava, you will be taken for a ride on a small train through part of the 20km of underground cava cellars. This finishes in the tasting room where you can take your senses for a spin, tasting a wide range of different Freixenet cavas. From here, you get the chance to obtain articles related to cava and wine at the Dolores Ferrer store.
From Cava to La Playa…
Travelling from one Catalan sub culture to another, you will then head to one of the most picturesque villages in the whole of Spain – Sitges. This is a big favourite of tourists, national and international alike who come to enjoy the seventeen beaches and 300 days of sunshine per year.
